WiER Author Webcasts

In the fall of 2005, WiER and KMDI teamed up to offer a pilot series of online readings using ePresence, KMDI's webcasting and archival platform. We are very pleased to invite you to view this series of readings.

Red River Writing

Welcome

The Writers In Electronic Residence (WiER) program was very pleased to host this special online conference for students who wanted to write about the feelings and thoughts they were having in response to the flooding that took place in Manitoba in 1997.

The project, which was open to all students in all grades, is described in more detail, below.

Teacher Appreciation Day

Teacher Appreciation Day has been conceived as a means by which Canadian schools can honour the teacher or teachers who made Writers In Electronic Residence -- the online interactions with professional writers and peers from across Canada -- a reality for their students. These teacher advocates have played a tremendous role in shaping WiER in its first ten years, through their online and offline commitment to changing the way literature and the creative writing process is approached in their classrooms. Allowing their achievements to go unnoticed would be to WiER's detriment as the programme enters into its second decade.
